Gathertown functions similarly to other web-conferencing software like Zoom, where users can turn on their webcams,  type, voice chat, and share their screens. The only difference is that it has an RPG-like interface where users need to move around to interact with others, just like in real life. Also, it runs on a web browser (no app or program is required).
